Market: Independent and
Multiple Gardening Retail Sector.
Objective: To successfully launch a
New Laura Ashley sub-brand range of gardening accessories,
retailed nationally and internationally through shop-in-shop
outlets. JPDS was approached by a global supplier of
garden
accessories to research and create a new brand identity
for a comprehensive range of Laura Ashley branded gardening
accessories. Once logo design approval had been given
by Laura Ashley, JPDS was then to design packaging for
the complete range, various promotional materials for
consumer garden exhibitions, and the trade launch Laura
Ashley exhibition stand at the major, annual trade show
at the NEC.

The design criteria were established as follows:
• Strict adherence to existing Laura Ashley brand
identity disciplines at every stage of the creative process.
• A design that would distinguish a stand alone
shop-in-shop but exist alongside other major retail brands.
• A design that would
match the distinctive, traditional ambience and style
of Laura Ashley, and meet the expectations of traditional
and new Laura Ashley customers.

The client required packaging design that provided optimum
impact, consumer recognition, convenience and retail
space utilisation.
Promotion
The design of promotional giveaway materials that would
stand out when carried by consumers during 2 major gardening
shows, combining good taste with low cost together with
the design of two-floor exhibition stand which provided
optimum visibility of the comprehensive product range
and packaging and provided trade buyers with a clear concept
of the shop-in-shop concept.
